Toronto Data Centre Migration

On February 06, 2008 we are moving to a new data centre, on the 8th floor of 151 Front St.

Servers will be physically moved from the old data centre to the new. However, the total down time for shared web hosting accounts is expected to be less than 15 minutes as we are only moving up one floor from the 7th to 8th floor.

Migrations will be performed between 2008-02-06 UTC 17:00 2008-02-06 UTC 03:00. Migration will be rescheduled for February 12th or 13th if there are any unforeseen delays or problems.

IP addresses and network routing will not change as a result of the migration.

Dedicated server clients will be informed by email of their migration particulars.

The new data centre affords the following improvements:

  • improved temperature control/cooling
  • improved power conditioning/UPS
  • better access security
  • latest fibre cabling and router/switch technology
