How many hosting accounts do you place on any single server?

There are a lot of variables that affect web host performance such as CPU speed & type, hard disk speed, available system memory and network bandwidth.

The number of hosting accounts on a server is not a good measure of server performance. Low-traffic sites will have little or no impack on performance while a single, high-traffic site can bring a server down to a crawl.

Our policy is not to overload any of our server resources. We allocate more resources or, when necessary, off-load high-resource users to different servers, in order to minimize the performance impact on shared-resource clients.
