The most popular usage "media", these days, refers to "the media" or "mass media" or to "multimedia". But let's not forget that really, it's the plural form of "medium" which is "...a means or vehicle for conveying information."

We like that sense of the meaning because it describes best what we do; that is, provide the means for conveying information. Whether we do it via the web, in print, or broadcast, it's all about communication.

Since the advent of the printing press the media of communication have pretty much been technological. That has lead to a whole lot of tools to put your message out there.
